Halo Programme – Wayne’s Story

I was on Universal Credit and Volunteering at a Covid Vaccination Centre, when I had an opportunity to attend a Health & Social Care Training – HALO, hosted by Southend Council. I enrolled on their five weeks course, and I haven’t looked back.

I am currently working as a Support Worker specialising in providing support and assistance, that enables a person to live a life meaningful to themselves in a lifestyle relevant to their everyday needs and preference. We facilitate opportunities for people to learn the skills important to them, both now and in the future. We are supporting people to develop and sustain their choices, control in their lives and exercise their rights as citizens.
