Halo Programme – Phil’s Story
Phil is from Southchurch, Southend
It was mid-April 2021, in the depth of the second Covid lockdown, when I got a call from Sarah asking me if I’d like to take part in the HALO care training program starting that week over Zoom. “I’ll give it a go” I thought, not really knowing if it was for me.
“Such was the success that I managed to be offered not one, but two roles that jigsaw together adult care and family support”
Well the course blew me away. Each session took us through a different part of the Certificate of Care syllabus and I was soon feeling more enlightened, empowered and ready to go into the care industry. Even that was covered with CV skills and sessions with potential employers. All the people on the course thought the same thing; that everyone could do with this course, not just for the care industry but for life.
“If you take my advice you’ll join if you can – you’ll never look back!”
Such was the success that I managed to be offered not one, but two roles that jigsaw together adult care and family support for a full range of experience – and an income.
I cannot thank Sarah and the contributors to the HALO programme enough for such a well organised, enjoyable and productive program. If you take my advice you’ll join if you can – you’ll never look back!
