In this Biology/Medicine session, Professor Kate Owen and Dr Nick Hopcroft from the Medical School at the University of Warwick will discuss what makes a good doctor and describe the different options for pursuing a medical career, including undergraduate medical degrees and graduate-entry medicine.
They will describe courses that can lead to a range of medicine-related careers, whilst keeping the option of studying to be a doctor open. They will also give insights into what it’s like to study medicine and the support their university offers to non-medical undergraduates interested in going on to study graduate-entry medicine.
This interactive talk will be useful for those who are considering a career in medicine, but might not yet be decided, might be unaware of the different routes or wish to keep their options open.
Suitable for: Aged 16+ pre-university students considering a career in medicine, but might not yet be decided, might be unaware of the different routes or wish to keep their options open. Student groups as well as students and teachers/advisers joining individually are very welcome.
