The IPS Support Programme
The IPS Support Programme helps individuals who have experienced mental or physical illness find and retain paid employment and offers a tailored, individual approach using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model designed to support you on your journey.
We understand that work is an asset to physical and mental wellbeing and the team will work with you to identify, secure and retain work at a pace which works for you, taking into account your interests, skills and experiences.
The IPS Support Programme team are there to provide a comprehensive support package ensuring you have the best chance of re-entering the working world with confidence and stability.
If you are thinking about finding full or part time work or would like more information, ask to be referred to your local employment specialist by a member of your Primary Care (GP) Network team.
Other Support Available
If a mental or physical health illness is causing you or someone you know to be absent from work or struggling at work, the IPS Employment Support team can also support both you and your employer to consider reasonable adjustments that can be made to your employment and, together with you, create a plan that helps you stay in work.
Our IPS Employment Support Service can also, with your consent, provide representation at formal meetings with employers or occupational health services and can assist both you and your employer with signposting and advice on additional services available.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the IPS Support Programme services, you need to be a resident of the Essex County Council area outside of Thurrock or Southend and suffering from ongoing mental or physical health illness that is affecting your ability to carry out or find work.
