They bring the NHS together locally to improve population health and establish shared strategic priorities within the NHS, connecting to partnership arrangements at system and place.

Hospital Services

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT)

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSE) is now one of the largest Acute Trusts in the country and comprises of three main hospital sites at Basildon, Southend and Broomfield in Chelmsford. MESFT also provide services at other community hospitals sites in Braintree, Maldon and Orsett. 

MSEFT are ‘One Team, Working Together’, and work together in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership to deliver excellent local and specialist services, improve the health and wellbeing of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

From facilities through to consultant specialists they want to be the best and to achieve this they need to recruit not just those who are the finest in their field but also those who have the potential to be.

Mental Health Services

Essex Partnership University Trust (EPUT)

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) provides community health, mental health and learning disability services to support more 3.2 million people living across Bedfordshire, Essex and Suffolk.

EPUT are a large employer in the East of England with more than 6,000 staff working across more than 200 sites. They also provide services in people’s home and community settings.

They offer both full-time and part-time roles, with full training provided, alongside an array of development opportunities to support staff and ensure they provide the best possible care they can for those who need their services.

North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT)

NELFT is a growing organisation serving a population of 4.9 million across northeast London, Essex, and Kent. They employ in excess of 6,500 staff and have an annual turnover of c.£490 million.

NELFT provides mental health and community services for people living in the London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, Essex, Kent and Medway.

They deliver these services in a range of settings including hospitals, health centres, GP practices and people’s own homes and work closely with a range of partners to ensure the best care is provided for their patients and service users.

Community Services

Provide Community 

Provide is a Community Interest Company (social enterprise).

They deliver a broad range of health and social care services in the community and are committed to making sure that they are safe, responsive, and high quality. They work from a variety of community settings, such as community hospitals, community clinics, nursing homes, and primary care settings, as well as within people’s homes to provide more than 40 services to children, families, and adults. They also offer some online services.

Provide Community offer services across Essex, and East Anglia. They have an income of approximately 67 million, and serve communities with a total population of more than 4.5 million people.

Integrated Care 24

Integrated Care 24 have been at the forefront of urgent care since the early 1990s. They’ve grown from a small group of GP cooperatives to a social enterprise organisation serving over six million patients and are proud to have been providing NHS services for over 25 years. 

Across the whole of the UK, approximately 50% of ambulance call outs are unnecessary, and over nine million people are sent home from A&E having only needed advice. Integrated Care 24’s services are designed to relieve some of the pressure on the emergency care sector by assessing and helping patients and giving them the appropriate care they need.

Integrated Care 24 have a team of around 1,200 people working hard around the clock, providing a range of urgent care across Kent, Sussex, Essex, and Norfolk and Waveney.

Because they’re a social enterprise, you can be assured that their focus is on quality of care, not on profit.

Primary Care

Primary care services provide the first point of contact in the healthcare system, acting as the ‘front door’ of the NHS. Primary care includes a variety of specialties such as general practice, community pharmacy, dental, and optometry (eye health) services.

In general practice, the aim is to provide an easily accessible route to care, whatever the patient’s problem. 

Primary health care is based on caring for people rather than specific diseases. This means that professionals working in general practice are generalists, dealing with a broad range of physical, psychological and social problems, rather than specialists in a particular disease area.

Across Mid and South Essex we currently have 180 GP practices who provide services to a population of over 1.2 million people.

Over the last couple of years, GP practices have come together to form Primary Care Networks (PCN’s) and we currently have 27 PCN’s within Mid and South Essex and the practices within these networks work closely together with each other and with colleagues in the wider healthcare service to provide care.

Councils

Essex County Council

Essex County Council is the county council that governs the county of Essex in England. 

Councils are responsible for a vast range of services that touch many aspects of our daily lives and connects you with utilities, support and resources including jobs, volunteering, education and housing. 

Local Borough Councils

Local Borough Councils cover a smaller area than county councils. They’re usually responsible for services like such as rubbish collection, recycling and council tax. They are also a key employer in our local area and provide a vast arrange of training and employment opportunities.

Ambulance Services

East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust

The East of England Ambulance Service provide 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport in the east of England. 

They also provide non-emergency patient transport services for patients needing non-emergency transport to and from hospital and other similar facilities.

The King’s Trust

The King’s Trust is a charity that helps vulnerable young people get their lives on track. It supports 11 to 30-year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school. Many of the young people helped by The Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems.

The King’s Trust runs a range of training programmes, providing practical and financial support to help build young people’s confidence and motivation.
