The module is available to nurses and nursing associates at all levels from pre-registration through to registered nurses working in different healthcare settings who are interested in exploring a career in general practice.
The module is available in both accredited and non-accredited formats, giving the choice to study at Level 6 or Level 7 depending on your career path and academic goals.
Over the course of three months, you’ll gain in-depth insight into the world of primary care and general practice nursing, equipping you with a strong foundation to not only understand general practice but to thrive within it. You’ll cover:
- The role of nursing in a multi-disciplinary team
- One-to-one communication skills with patients and colleagues
- Operating effectively in a primary care setting
- How to prepare a strong application and succeed in interviews for general practice roles
The module will be delivered using a variety of learning techniques from face-to-face learning to virtual reality to bring the general practice experience to life.
