Take part in the NHS Young People's Health Challenge in Mid and South Essex!
Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System and the Health & Care Academy are excited to announce our new partnership with Barnardo’s to provide the NHS Young People’s Health Challenge to children and young people across our region!
The NHS Young People’s Health Challenge is an exciting new national initiative for young people aged 7-14, co designed with NHS England, Barnardo’s and Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH). Developed and piloted last year, the NHS Young People’s Health Challenge comprises 63 engaging activities over 3 toolkits, arranged around 7 key themes:
- About the NHS
- Make your voice heard
- Give back to the NHS
- Healthy Mind
- Jobs
- Caring for myself and others
- Healthy body
The toolkits can be used in various settings including schools, youth groups, within health settings or alongside other youth voice opportunities. By taking part in these challenges, young people will:
- Learn more about health and wellbeing
- Understand how to support your own and others’ wellbeing
- Discover how everyday actions can help the NHS
- Explore how you can give back to the NHS
- Find out about different careers and jobs in the NHS
- Take action to support the NHS
The programme is adaptable, flexible and allows for challenges to be completed within a lesson, in conjunction with other topics or revisited over a period of time.
Check out the Young People’s Health Challenge website for more information, which also includes a free Taster Pack
