In this interactive session, the University of Bath will be talking through the complexities of working with vulnerable adults experiencing abuse. We’ll explore the challenges for professionals (social workers, health professionals, police etc) of working to keep people safe while also exploring the right of adults to make choices about their own lives.

This session will be of interest to anyone thinking about a career in health and social care or public services. It will also be of interest to students studying the dynamics of interpersonal relationships and those with an interest in broader social justice issues. The session will be led by Dr Megan Robb who is a lecturer in Social Work at the University of Bath.

Suitable for: Year 12 students (and equivalent) studying, or with a possible interest in studying, Social Work, Sociology, Health & Social Care, Psychology and related disciplines.

Preparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to consider the topic in advance and can also think about questions they have about studying at university level.

The IT Setup: The event will be run on Zoom and participants will be able to join using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard.
